In 2007, Londoner Diane Bolt made the leap across the pond to Canada where she now lives in Calgary, Alta. She started out at an advertising agency then worked in film production for 10 years producing TV commercials and music videos before betting it all on a writing career. For Diane, nothing beats waking up in a different country, town or city with a day of exploring ahead.

Coolest place you've ever visited and why: Canada for the abundant space and the morning and evening sun over the mountains; it never gets old.

Must-pack item: Saje Safe Hands Antimicrobial Hand Lotion.

Favourite travel memory: Getting on a plane with no idea where I was going for a 30th birthday surprise and seeing the lush green fields of the Emerald Isle just before touching down at Shannon Airport, Ireland for the first time.
